Right before break I decided that I was most definitely going to shut down my xanga.  I haven't really derived much pleasure from it for quite some time now.  My page is pretty much the shiz-nit as far as good-lookingness goes, but if that is the only aspect of my xanga page that is bringing me any joy, then it doesn't really have much going for it.  My darling friend Hannah, when told of my intentions, begged me to reconsider.  So I did.  And I've continued to consider for quite some time now, but the truth is, I'm bored out of my mind with this thing.  I love people... and I want to stay in touch with them... but not over the computer.  That's gay.  And as far as you guys wanting to know what's going on in my unusual little mind, if you really gave a crap, you'd call or stop by.  For the sake of posterity I'll leave my page up, but I have no intention of using it anymore.

I feel some inner obligation to post on this thing despite the fact that I don't really want to.  But for those of you who are dying to know what's going on in my life I guess I'll write down something.  School is okay.  A little less exciting than I would prefer but I guess we're all getting older and there's less and less point in trying to drag people away from the tv or computer to do something fun.  Next semester will be better because two of my favorite people will be back.

Being an RA is good in some ways and not fun in others.

My relationship with God is not as fruitful as I want it to be, but at least I want it.  Having less social time this year has made me aware of some of the things I depend on for life.  I decided I'd rather have Life.

The other day I decided, partially on a whim, to go and get my industrial piercing.  Talk about excruciating.  After that, childbirth should be a breeze.  It looks pretty awesome though, I'm not gonna lie.

Showbread is coming to Wichita on Thursday.  Eeeeee!!!  I haven't seen them since they put out their new album and I'm kind of excited to say the least.  One of these days I should write a poem about the awesomeness that is Showbread.

Ten days til my birthday.  I'm gonna eat pumpkin AND pecan pie.  Don't worry, just a half slice of each.  It will be DEE-LIC-OUS (whispered loudly).

And maybe... if you happen to be in Tulsa over the break we should get together.  Who knows, it could be fun.  You could see my pink fauxhawk.  Judging from the amount of stares I've gotten recently, it's worth looking at.

So here's the dealio.  The KC  RenFest is this weekend and Iam stoked beyond all reason.  Partly because I'm dressing up as afairy and partly because dressing up as a fairy gives me an excuse tocut my hair and dye it pink which is pretty much my lifelong dream ofthe last few months.  I'll also get to ride an elephant, be anarcher, ogle all the way cool souvenirs and costumes, and justgenerally have an amazing time.  And really, having an amazingtime is something I don't do as often as I used to and frankly, myfriends, that needs to change. Okay I gotta go.  Work calls.

I can't count the number of times recently that my mod has smelled like poop.

What's going on in my life: the list

1. This morning I woke up with wildly curly hair (having slept on it wet).  It was awesome.

2. I bought fairy wings for my fairy costume and Elvis sunglasses and Bride of Frankenstein earrings today.  I feel guilty for spending the money, but dang how could I resist?

3. The Scottish Festival and the RenFest are coming up.  I'm looking forward to both with great anticipation.  I'm gonna dress up like a fairy for the RenFest.... and shoot a bow and arrow.... and ride an elephant.  It's gonna be great (whispered)!

4. I bought a ticket to Chicago for fall break last night.  Pretty sure I don't feel guilty about that one.  $118!  Booya!

5. I'm not really sure what else to say.  These are all fun things, things that excite me.  Lately though, they've been few and far between.  I seem to be living life at a distance, tenatively waiting to see whether it will be good or not, hoping that from here I can duck the blows that seem to keep coming.  Dang, I hope my life will be good.
